Helping to make Christian education obtainable.
Through the donations of many, we are able to offer this service to families who would otherwise not be able to send their children to Riverside Christian School.
After fundraising and generous donations, RCS typically provides over $300,000 to supplement tuition for families with children in grades K-12, who are unable to fit the base tuition into their budget.
If your total tuition for grades K-12 exceeds 10% of your family total income, your students attend full-time, and you will not be able to afford your full tuition payments, please consider applying for the RCS Variable Tuition Program through the FACTS Grant & Aid (FACTS) Service.
FACTS provides a need-based financial aid analysis to RCS which includes a recommendation of what your family should be able to reasonably contribute toward tuition. FACTS does not decide whether Variable Tuition will be given, nor does it decide how much will be given.
Your FACTS report is reviewed by the RCS Variable Tuition Committee and the variable tuition rate is then determined for your family. All information from FACTS is kept strictly confidential.
You will first need to enroll your child full-time at Riverside. After your child has completed the application and enrollment process, you will receive an email with an acceptance letter stating enrollment is complete, the acceptance letter. Within this email is a link to apply for Variable Tuition.
Through this link you will be able to pay your application fee (non-refundable fee of $35), input your data figures, and upload the required documents
Once the FACTS application is submitted, the review committee will meet and contact you to discuss any further circumstances that may need clarification. Our Variable Tuition award process is not a hard and fast, yes and no kind of thing. Variable Tuition takes the whole picture into account to ensure that each family has the best chance at obtaining a Christian education.
If you are awarded Variable Tuition and you find that you are not able to make the payments work in your budget, we will refund all fees possible (minus non-refundable fees, approx. $85 for a single child family).
Any family (current or new) with a child(ren) enrolled full-time in kindergarten through twelfth grade may apply for Variable Tuition. Many factors are considered when determining the tuition amount a family is able to pay, including income, assets, unusual expenses, and the size of the family. The resources available for the family in a given year must also be considered in light of the Variable Tuition awards available at Riverside Christian School.
What if I cannot afford the Application Fee ($35)?
If you are not able to afford the application fee, please stop by the office and let us know of your need. We do not want an application fee to stand in the way of your child’s education.
Who qualifies for Variable Tuition?
Families whose tuition exceeds 10% of their adjusted gross income and demonstrate a financial need. Reasonable living expenses are taken into account during the review process. Students must attend RCS full-time.
